SEMINAR A SUCCESS!!!
September 22nd, 2008On September 6, 2008, we had a seminar at the Etowah Isshin-ryu School of Karate. There were about 15 people in attendance in what was one of the best classes that I have ever attended. We began at 9:00 a.m. and were scheduled to wrap up around 1:30 p.m., but like all good martial artist, we were still going up to around 5:00. The instructors were Don Roberts, a 9th degree black belt from Fairburn, Ga., Jim La Rocco, a ninth degree from Cumming,Ga., Sonny Newman, a sixth degree from Sevireville,Tenn., and David Rayburn, a fifth degree from the Etowah Isshin-ryu School of Karate. The classes ran the gamut of everything from the hand stacking moves in kata, to various kata moves used as self defense moves, to one hand techniques that were very devistating, and Master Shimabuku’s Kumite (fighting). We wish to thank all those who came and made this one of the greatest days in the history of the Etowah Isshin-ryu School of Karate.
